Northbrook, Ill. — ISSA, the leading worldwide cleaning industry association, and RAI Amsterdam, which owns the trade show platform known as “INTERCLEAN” have restructured their agreement to better encourage mutual cooperation as well as pursuing new ventures for their respective industry constituents.

The new deal ensures that cleaning industry attendees and exhibitors will continue to have access to the the latest innovations and business opportunities at the industry’s major shows around the world.

Under the new agreement, the Amsterdam and Istanbul shows will be part of the RAI portfolio while the cleaning shows in the Americas and Mexico will continue to be ISSA events. The ISSA events will be rebranded beginning with the ISSA Show 2018 in Dallas next fall. The rebranding will include shows in Mexico, Australia and South Africa. No show dates for ISSA or INTERCLEAN will change in 2018.

ISSA Executive Director John Barrett said that ISSA is hopeful there will not be any visible change to customers in the short term. “We want to ensure a seamless transition for our attendees and exhibitors,” he said in an emailed statement.

Barrett continued, saying, “Each organization has agreed to be mutually supportive, and we will be. There remains a great deal of room for cooperation. At the same time, there is a clear mandate that each can stake out new ground for its respective constituencies, because it is our mutual desire that our clients come out the winner.”

ISSA, which began in 1923 as the National Sanitary Supply Association, counts 9,200 members who are distributors, manufacturers (and their representatives), building service contractors, in-house service providers, residential cleaners and others who combine to make it the leading trade association for the cleaning industry. Known as ISSA: the Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association since 2005, it has offices in four countries.
