Atlanta — Shepard kicked off 2018 with another acquisition in the audio-visual space.

Shepard expanded its presence in the Washington, D.C., market in January by acquiring Production Associates, a Virginia company that provides comprehensive AV services for association, government and corporate events.

The deal comes on the heels of a similar acquisition in December when Shepard added McCune Audio-Visual-Lighting, a staging, lighting and AV firm based in the San Francisco area. Shepard launched its AV division in 2016.

“We see substantial long-term growth opportunities in the audio-visual and event technology space and will continue to invest to meet the demands of the industry,” said Shepard Executive Chairman Carl Mitchell. “We have aggressively expanded our portfolio, enabling us to provide our customers an all-inclusive solution to enhance their planning experience.”

Production Associates will become part of the Shepard AV division and will continue to operate out of the Northern Virginia suburbs. “Production Associates brings a strong service-based culture, innovative technology, plus a thriving presence in the Virginia, Maryland and D.C. markets,” said Stuart Danneman, Executive Vice President of Shepard AV.
